| Summary: | 碩士 === 實踐大學 === 社會工作學系碩士班 === 106 === The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships among demographic characteristics, marital satisfaction and life satisfaction of the elderly. The participant selected from the Living Conditions and Welfare Needs Survey of the Elderly in 2009, based on the Department of Social Welfare, a city government in the Northern Taiwan, included 677 elderly (age≧60).The statistic analysis included descriptive statistics, t test, one way ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation and multiple regression analysis.
The main results revealed：
First, the marital satisfaction of the elderly are generally satisfied.
Second, the life satisfaction of the elderly are generally satisfied.
Third, the Variables of gender, age, education level and marital status were significant predictors for marital satisfaction.
Fourth, the Variables of age and education level were significant predictors for life satisfaction.
Fifth, there was positive correlation between marital satisfaction and life satisfaction of the elderly.
Sixth, the Variables of gender, age, education level,marital status and marital satisfaction were significant predicators for life satisfaction, and the total variance was 70.2%.
Finally, some suggestions for elders, government and future researches were proposed according to the results of this study.
