The small and medium-sized enterprises (called as SMEs) play an important role to support economic growth and development in Taiwan. However, due to smaller scales and limited resources, SMEs could easily fall into unsustainable danger due to a huge crisis. As a result, crisis management becomes much more important to SMEs. This article intends to discuss the crisis causes and crisis processing stages of SMEs, and conducted a case study on the crisis management of incidents of defective products in the cooperation between A and B Company. This study summarizes the internal and external factors of the SME crisis and the fourstage crisis management model. Furthermore, several crisis management recommendations were proposed, including crisis awareness and “integrity and accountability” attitude, establishing risk warning indicators, and risk processing reasoning and experience.
