碩士 === 世新大學 === 廣播電視電影學研究所(含碩專班) === 106 === “The Cage” is a story of a policeman’s family. The original story stems from my father's experience as well as my own.The notion of family extends to the profession of a policeman, struggling to maintain balance amidst the bureaucracy of the police world, an estranged family, and one’s righteousness, “The Cage”, in that sense is a family that imprisons it’s occupant, the pigeon. “The Cage”, funded by the Public Television Service Student Innovation Stories Program, began shooting from August 2016 for a total of five days, with its main location situated in Taipei. As the story progresses,the audience begin to understand how each policeman, who grew up along the grey area of Taiwan, faced themselves, their profession, family and life. Through this film, The author hopes that more people will arise to take notice of issues in the police world, hope that more people will arise to take notice of issues in the police world, and to reflect and ponder upon. This discourse, through the vision of the creator, aims to provide references and experiences for future creators through detailed analysis, reflections and discussions of the entire visualization process, encompassing creation background, motivation behind creation, synopsis, style, cinematography, art direction and etc.
