As a result, business owners in Taiwan's stone industry have to move to the mainland China to look for more opportunities. The purpose of this study was to find out the key innovative factors in the stone industry. This study reviewed the previous researches and identified key success factors for the business models through case studies and surveys in the stone industry. These key innovative factors for the business models may help the stone industry to survive in a highly competitive industrial environment. The results have shown that: 1) Importance of production management: consistent product requirements for quality, technology, safety, and aesthetics. The value of the product can be created by the persistence of quality. 2) Emphasis of the differentiated products: the company has adopted a differentiated strategy mainly due to its own capabilities of research and development and the advantages of production technology. 3) With the dramatic changes in the external environment and fierce competition, a proper analysis on internal and external resources and capabilities is a must in finding the core competencies to coordinate and integrate with the production technologies. Through the adjustment of market supply and demand, the competition of competitors' prices should be reduced. 4) Research and development capabilities needed to be strengthened. New products with new production technology needed to create with new functions and to coordinate with various preservation measures, in order to reduce the opportunities for competitors to imitate or extend the time of follow-up imitation.
