Description
Summary:碩士 === 東海大學 === 美術學系 === 106 === The Objective of this paper is to elaborate on the reflections and the corresponding works of art facing the current environmental issues. Our natural environment is getting worse day by day. However, some people are still greedy and continue to plunder the diminished natural resources. We need to take the environmental issues more seriously and try not to ignore the damages we’ve done to the environment. We should learn to cherish the earth and treat all living things with love and respect. Therefore, I try to figure out the intricate and inextricable relationship between humans and natural environment together with my creative self and my own experiences. The first chapter introduces the motivation and the purpose of the art. The close relationship between humans and nature in ancient times is first mentioned to lead into the concept of animism. With my works, I would like to remind people that we need to respect for every other living creature. The second chapter refers to the damages and invasion we’ve done to the natural environment. With the interpretation of the world interwoven with sense and sensibility, I bring up to the possibility of nature’s retaliation and try to give warning about the dangers to all of us if we continue destroying the environment. In Chapter Three, I discuss from the vitality implied in ancient myths to awe and veneration of all living things highly esteemed in Japanese animism and correlate these concepts to my creative self and the meaning of my works. In Chapter Four, I cite some works that contain the element flame and the meaning of Earth Spirituality to depict the connection and alteration between the creators and their works. In the fifth chapter, with conceptual analysis of my each work, I would like to lead the reader to face “Nature’s Retaliation”, “the in All Living Things Existed Spirituality” and “Helplessness and Bewilderment of Life’ Flow”. Adhering to the creative concepts mentioned above, I would like to show concern for all living things on earth and I hope that my works can somehow influence on other people and things will be better someday.
