However, considerable niche and challenges are created by FinTech innovation, which as a result brings impacts and changes to the ways of wealth management business. The present study firstly explored the internal and external situations and industrial competitiveness of wealth management via case studies in Taiwan. Then, in-depth interviews were carried out to examine the business models and key factors of successful operations of high-asset clients in order to learn the wealth management strategies adopted by banks for high-asset clients in the digital financial era. Due to the high competition in Taiwan’s wealth management market and the lack of an awareness of keeping up with international regulations, together with the shortage of professionals and limited ability of product development, the banking industry is advised to take in more financial experts, consolidate departmental systems, improve research and development capacities, allocate assets in the most appropriate way, and highlight the differences in service value. The present study summarizes the following factors of these successful banks in wealth management of high-asset clients: professional teamwork, a good establishment of product systems, differentiated modes of customer marketing, the integration of internal and external resources, the principle of ‘customer first’ service. These factors lead to a financial planning platform for all aspects. In terms of banks’ wealth management ability, the present study focuses on bank-customer relationship management, product development and asset allocations, the planning of wealth management solutions, and safe trust. Finally, the present study proposes that banks need to make good use of both innovated financial technology and intelligent investing strategies to raise the value of customers’ experience and develop other potential high-value customers.
