The system includes a patch antenna array, a compact butler matrix, a voltage detector network and Arduino UNO. Using transmission line and periodic open-circuit shunt stubs, both 3dB coupler and crossover are easily realized in planar circuit without additional components. A beamforming system was simulated. 2-D polar far field pattern are obtained, where four beams can be observed at their respective beam direction when each of input of Butler Matrix are fed with input signal. Four beams are produced at 15°, 47°, 312°, and 347° at 2.45GHz. After the receiving antenna receives the electromagnetic wave reflected by the obstacle.
