It is a candidate of 5G communication systems to replace the Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) in 4G communication system. Compared with the OFDM system, it has higher spectrum efficiency while lower the out-of-band interference and peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) at the same time. This thesis mainly focuses on reducing the PAPR of the GFDM system without affecting symbol error rate (SER) by using Inverse Discrete Fourier transform (IDFT). In this thesis, the frame data after mapping in the GFDM system is modulated by three different kinds of IDFT matrices in order to find the best method.
