碩士 === 國立臺北藝術大學 === 音樂學系碩士在職專班 === 106 === The Russian composer Prokofiev is one of the most important composer during the 19th and 20th centuries. In addition to the contemporary social and politic situation, the background of his works merges his own characteristics and rebellious personalities. These are all the features of his works. The ballet opera 《Cinderella》 was composed during 1940 to 1944 by Prokofiev. Since Prokofiev was moved by the love stories between the Prince and Cinderella, he composed this opera for this title. At that time, the politic situation was in chaos, many wars were caused and thus the composition of Cinderella was suspended. Until 1944, Prokofiev finally completed his work and gave the premiere of Cinderella. Before completing Cinderella, Prokofiev chose 10 pieces from the completion and rearranged them for piano pieces. These 10 pieces were premiered in 1943, named "ten pieces for piano from the ballet Cinderella Op. 97". This dissertation is divided into 5 chapters. Through Prokofiev, his style of works, composition backgrounds of Cinderella and structural analyses of 10 pieces of Cinderella, the pianist could find more suitable explanations in this dissertation.
