Summary: | 碩士 === 臺北市立大學 === 教育行政與評鑑研究所碩士在職專班 === 106 === This study aims to understand the principals’ leadership competence and the teachers’ job involvement of elementary schools in Taoyuan City and explores the perceptual differences of the principals’ leadership competence and the teachers’ job involvement between the demographic variables and school environmental variables. Secondarily, this study analyzes the relationship between the principals’ leadership competence and the teachers’ job involvement. Finally the study tries to verify these factors for prediction.
The methodo adopts questionnaire survey. The samples consisted of 608 teachers selected from elementary schools in Taoyuan City, 576 questionnaires were released, 573 were retrieved.After discarding 3 invalid questionnaires, there were 573 valid questionnaires, reaching 94.24% of valid questionnaires. The researcher analyzed the survey data by various statistical methods, including t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation and stepwise multiple regression analysis.
The findings of the study are as follow:
I.The overall performance of the principals’ leadership competence of elementary schools in Taoyuan City was highly affirmed by the teachers, and among of all, “resource management capability” has the best performance.
II.The overall performance of the teachers’ job involvement of elementary schools in Taoyuan City was highly affirmed by the teachers, and among of all, “job assessment” has the best performance.
III.There are significant differences for teachers who perceived the principals’ leadership competence in the overall and partial factors due to different “age”, “position” and “service year”. But the differences in “genders” and “school sizes” were only significant at partial dimensions.
IV.There are significant differences for teachers who perceived the teachers’ job involvement in the overall and partial factors due to different “position”. But the differences in “genders” and “school sizes” were only significant at partial dimensions.
V.“ The principals’ leadership competence” in Taoyuan City elementary schools is highly correlated with “the teachers’ job involvement”. “Performance achievement capability” in the principals’ leadership competence was the most relevant. And “job participation” in the teachers’ job involvement was also the most relevant.
VI.The principals’ leadership competence of elementary schools in Taoyuan City can be used efficiently to predict the teachers’ job involvement from the whole and every factors, especially performance achievement capability.
Based on the conclusions of the study, some suggestions are provided to the education authorities, primary school principals, teachers and the extended research as well.
