Firstly, understand the current the usage of reading pens and English learning. Secondly,discuss the differences in the use of reading pens in different personal background variables, the use of reading pens and English learning performance. Finally, analyze the use of reading pens and English learning performance. The questionnaire survey method was used in the fifteen cram shools in Taipei area to collect 210 copies, and 4 incomplete questionnaires were deleted. The total effective questionnaire was 206. The questionnaire survey data was analyzed by IBM SPSS 22.0 for windows Chinese version. The data analysis mainly used statistical methods including: descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test, One-way ANOVA analysis and Pearson’s product moment correlation, multiple regression analysis, etc. The results of the statistical analysis aresummarized as the following: First, the average number of English learning performance using the reading pen: the convenience of using the reading pen, the average number is also above the average, which also represents the user focus on convenience of using the reading pen; the average number of reading pens and English learning performance is over 3,while the average of learning efficiency is above the averge.Learning efficiency is improved on the user after using the reading pen. Second, the use of reading pens and English learning results in the different backgrounds such as user’s age, school, time of the using reading pen at home, using reading pen in class which are the most different. Third, the use of reading pen and English learning performance, the overall interpretation of the variation was 69.8%. This shows the reading pen is useful for English learning. This study can be used to understand that the use of point reading pens can improve the English learning performance of students. Therefore, it is also suggested that the cram shool owners can use reading pen as a useful teaching aid for English learning, but for English teachers, it is even better to use the reading pen in class to add the fun. For parents, it can help children learn English. For students, they can also use the reading pen to improve their English learning. Therefore, it is hoped that this study will make students' English learning more effective, and also recommend reading pens. Keywords: reading pen, English learning performance
