In this study, we examine how service innovation is affected by supply chain orientation and supply chain agility how big data analytics use and political skills affect supply chain orientation and supply chain agility. The data comes from 252 Taiwanese manufacturing companies, one of the 2,500 Taiwanese manufacturing companies listed in the China Credit Information Service Center in 2015. Supply chain orientation and supply chain agility are found to be positively associated with big data analytics use. The association between political skill and supply chain orientation and supply chain agility has significantly positive effect moderated by big data analytics use such that the association will be significantly more strong when a high level of political skills is present. Furthermore, supply chain orientation and supply chain agility are found to be positively associated with service innovation. Our results show that service innovation impacted by political skill perspective can be applied in Taiwanese manufacturing firms.
