The group of adolescents are highly associated with early-onset depression, which often accounts for the cause of suicide. This explains why adolescent’s mental health problems should be seriously taken. In the face of the psychological emotional problems, the adolescents often feel difficult to reveal to others, and not likely to seek assistance from others. Hence, the study wishes to use the healing picture books to relieve negative emotions and, through the promotion of the picture books, attracts people’s attention to confront the issue of adolescent depression. The healing picture book Hey, Here I Am was used by the study to help readers understand and guide them into the situation that the author creates in order to produce correspondence between author and reader through narratives and the use and arrangement of graphic signs. The study wishes to spread positive emotional power through this artwork creation. This artwork can be divided into six stages: (1) to build the problematique of the research; (2) to explore the issue of adolescent depression and the collection of literature; (3) to understand the status quo through interviews with experts and the analysis of healing picture books related to depression; (4) to build the statement of the artwork creation and develop a healing picture book thematically related to adolescent depression through the investigations accumulated from the literature and the results obtained from the interviews with experts; (5) to release the picture book, Hey, Here I Am; (6) to write the report concerning suggestions and reviews. Based on the collection of literature and interviews with experts, the artwork creation discovers the three points: (1)Adolescent depression is often mistaken for adolescence, often overlooked, and symptoms are more prone to irritability and lack of patience than normal adults. And to assist patients with the attitude of “listening, accompanying, and confronting the hardship together” enables them to create a sense of security and hope in the psychological statuses among the patients. (2)The twists and turns of the narrative structure of this picture book come to the denouement with the last dawn light of hope which enables readers to achieve the psychological process of identification, purgation, and epiphany through the changes of one’s mentality and others’ intervention. (3)One can find that the disease, which is abstract, is physically embodied in order to make readers have a better understanding about the diseases told in the stories, after the analysis of the picture books about the issue of depression.
