Due to the popularity of mobile phone and mobile network, QR codes are widely used in daily life, including applications with high privacy requirements such as mobile payment and identification. However, there are only a few studies on the protection of content in QR code, and most of them decrease the tolerance of QR codes. Therefore, a secret sharing system based upon QR code is proposed in this article. The method generates n shadows set form secret and embed it into n QR codes with the characteristics of Reed-Solomon code in order to keep the readability. Collect any t (≦n) or more QR codes to retrieve secret. According to experiments, the proposed method not only satisfies the readability but retain the error tolerance of the QR code. Moreover, the covertness is high enough to avoid the notice from attackers and can be transmitted on paper or in digital.
