Description
Summary:博士 === 國立中正大學 === 犯罪防治研究所 === 107 === A large proportion of the prisoners in our national prisons are re-offenders, and corrective treatment seems to have produced little results. Based on the knowledge of Christian faith and Transpersonal Psychology, this study explores the spiritual needs of prisoners and the use of Christian religious counseling, and finally proposes some recommendations. In order to accomplish the research goals, this study first explores the core values of Christianity, and then invites six Christian teachers who have volunteered for more than three years in prison counseling and seven ex-offenders who accepted Christian faith to share their experiences. This study uses the "Thematic analysis method" and the "data analysis method of Grounded theory" to conduct qualitative research analysis. It is expected that the future direction of crime correction can be explored from outside the system of correctional institutions. The study found that the Christian faith can help the prisoner's spirituality to grow greatly and promote changes from the inside out. Whether the counseling is successful or not depends on whether the prisoner can overcome the social temptation after leaving the correctional institution. Therefore, it is recommended that correctional institutions should be combined with non-government organizations that emphasize religious beliefs so that the effectiveness of treatment within the correctional institutions can be extended to social life. In addition, this study establishes a Christian correction model based on the results of the study, so that the correctional institutions can refer to it in the future.
