Description
Summary:碩士 === 中華大學 === 科技管理學系 === 107 === The rise of the Internet as well as rapid development of information communication have contributed to the widespread application of instant messaging (IM) software and platforms, which are causing impact on people’s interpersonal interaction and their daily lives in various aspects. Under this trend, diversification of communication channels have become inevitable tendencies toward facilitating easier and more efficient parent-teacher communication. Given that good parent-teacher relationship is central to childrens growth and education, it is significant to investigate the Behavioral Intention and Satisfaction of elementary school students’ parents who apply LINE for parent-teacher communication. The current study was theoretically based on Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). Personal Willingness for Using Innovative Information Technology, Subjective Norms, Information Sharing, Instant Interaction, Perceived Ease of Use, Perceived Usefulness, Behavioral Intention, and Satisfaction were the variables used in exploring the Behavioral Intention and Satisfaction of elementary school students’ parents who apply LINE for parent-teacher communication. The study was conducted in the form of paper survey in November 2018, with data gathered from parents of elementary school students in New Taipei City. A total of 396 valid responses were collected. SPSS was applied to perform reliability analysis, descriptive statistics, independent samples t-tests, ANOVA, correlation analysis, and regression analysis on the collected data in order to verify the research hypotheses. The results of this study indicated that Perceived Ease of Use was the factor that affected Perceived Usefulness and Behavioral Intention the most. Parents Behavioral Intention had an effect on their Satisfaction with using LINE for parent-teacher communication. The user-friendliness of IM software had a positive effect on parents’ willingness to apply it for communication. Satisfied with applying LINE for parent-teacher communication, parents were inclined to interact with teachers via LINE individually. Teachers should utilize IM software as an auxiliary medium for parent-teacher communication in order to improve their communication, negotiation and platform-management skills. Both teachers and parents should utilize Line@ to avoid problems potentially arising from group chats. Parent education speeches or workshops regarding IM software application for parent-teacher communication should be held to facilitate a good educational environment for parents, teachers and students. It’s expected that the findings of the study could serve as reference for elementary school teachers and parents when applying LINE for parent-teacher communication.
