Description
Summary:碩士 === 中華大學 === 景觀建築學系 === 107 === There are more than 4,000 species of native vascular plants in Taiwan. They are not only essential to the landscapes and the ecosystem, but also the best materials for the urban forests. To establish a list of the native urban ornamentals of Taiwan, it was supposed to build a species-screening framework step by step in this study: complete list, usable list, and recommended list. After compiling all the trees in Taiwan, the complete list recorded 1,397 species, the usable list recorded 591 species which were able to build low-altitude urban forests in Taiwan, and the recommended list came from the top 157 species voted by 109 professionals. The top 15 species were Elaeocarpus decipiens, Cyclobalanopsis glauca, Zelkova serrate, Gordonia axillaris, Barringtonia racemosa, Ulmus parvifolia, Fraxinus griffithii, Pittosporum pentandrum, Heritiera littoralis, Decussocarpus nagi, Maba egbert-walkeri, Sapindus mukorossi, Chionanthus retusus, Myrica rubra, and Phoenix loureirii. After analyzing the usable list in this study and 5 common ornamental lists, there were 15 species, F. griffithii, H. littoralis, Michelia compressa, Hibiscus tiliaceus, Murraya paniculata, Koelreuteria henryi, Pongamia pinnata, Calophyllum inophyllum, Melia azedarach, Pistacia chinensis, Palaquium formosanum, Terminalia catappa, Garcinia subelliptica, Lagerstroemia subcostata, and Prunus campanulata, recommended in common. And all the 15 species were listed in the recommended list in this study. The recommended list in this study is able to be a reference for choosing the species used to establish a Taiwanese urban forest. It is suggested to improve the application knowledge and skills about these native plants progressively.
