Summary:碩士 === 嘉南藥理大學 === 職業安全衛生系 === 106 === Good sleep is one of the factors to maintain physical and mental health. Firefighting work has high risks. It needs good concentration and spirit to respond to any situation. However, due to the impact of shifts and service, poor sleep quality is a common problem for firefighters. For one of the purposes of this study, a survey was conducted on the field staff of the Tainan Municipal Government to understand their sleep status for reference. This study used a questionnaire survey using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) as the main scale. Participants are firefighters of the Tainan Municipal Government Fire Department. A total of 150 questionnaires were sent out and 109 valid questionnaires were obtained. Among the participants of the 109 valid questionnaires, 106 are males (97.2%) and 3 are females (2.8%). The results of the study indicated that the average score of PSQI was 8.07, and the poor sleep quality was 79.8%. Gender, age, marriage, working years, position, drinking, smoking, exercise, BMI value and service impact are considered to be factors influencing sleep quality. Desriptive statistics, T-test, variance analysis were used to analyze the data to understand the relevance of sleep quality to these factors. Research results show that, academic qualifications, marriage, age, seniority, exercise habits, drinking habits, BMI values, and service impact have significant differences in terms of sleep quality.
