However, there are still a lot of students feeling anxious and helpless about learning English. Therefore, to arouse students’ English learning interest and to promote their basic English communication ability have become English teachers’ duty-bound responsibility. English songs are not only excellent media for learning English but also teenagers’ favorite popular elements. The rich lyrics as well as the beautiful melodies help students systematically learn vocabulary, phrases, grammar, or sentence patterns through the meaningful context. Moreover, students get to understand different western cultures and cultivate diverse international perspectives. The main purpose of the research is to investigate the effects of integrating English teaching with English songs on junior high school students’ English learning motivation and learning achievement. This research adopted the one-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects of this research are the 31ninth-grader students of the same class in a junior high school in Kaohsiung. The research conducted an eight-week English songs instruction for the students. In addition, the researcher tried to examine its impact on English learning motivation and learning achievement through the analyses of the English learning achievement assessments, the English learning motivation scales, the students’ learning feedback questionnaires, and the teacher’s teaching reflections and other related research tools. The results of the research are as follows: 1.Through this experimental research, the researcher can construct a teaching process of English songs. 2.Integrating English songs into junior high school English teaching can increase students’ English learning motivation. 3.Integrating English songs into junior high school English teaching can improve students’ English learning achievement. 4.After combining English songs with on-site teaching, the researcher gets to develope appropriate English song teaching models. Finally, based on the research results, this research proposes specific suggestions on the application of integrating English songs into English teaching and further related researches. They can be served as useful references for teachers and other relevant teaching experiment researchers who are interested in English songs instruction in the future.
