It is the beginning of the environmental education for school children. The study aimed to explore whether implementing picture books into teaching will enhance the environmental knowledge, the attitude, and the behavior of students in the fourth grade of elementary school. In this study, experimental research method was adopted. Students in fourth grade in an elementary school in Pingtung County were taken as research subjects and were categorized into an experimental group and a control group. Students in the experimental group were instructed with picture books for six weeks, whereas those of the control group were instructed with general health and physical education program only. Students of either group took “Environmental Learning Questionnaire” established by the researcher prior and after the experiment. The Questionnaire was divided into three parts: environmental knowledge, environmental attitude, and environmental behavior. According to the study, it can be concluded as follows: 1.There is significant improvement in bringing of picture books in the environmental knowledge and environmental behavior in the experimental group of fourth grade students. 2.Compared with the teaching of traditional textbooks, importing the teaching of picture books can improve the environmental knowledge and behavior of school children. 3.According to the feedback sheet, the experimental group of fourth grade students has a higher preference for the teaching of picture books , believing that it has gained. 4.The sharing experience of the children shows that more unique picture book is more popular among students. Therefore, importing picture books into environmental education teaching design is worth recommending. According to this research, it is recommended that follow-up researchers can select a unique arrangement of picture books for the teaching of environmental education to achieve better teaching results and give children concern about environmental education
