碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 公共事務與社會創新研究所 === 107 === In recent years, because of trends in globalization, gaining international exchange experiences is getting more and more popular. The Government Policies, university subsidies, the awareness of students are the reasons why that plenty of students are interested in international exchange projects. Universities in Taiwan starts to sign agreements with various universities around the world and send students aboard to gain competitiveness. In order to help student to understand the cultural difference and adjust to new environments, this research aims to discuss learning and cultural adjustment of exchange students—by comparing of multi-country cases. Through qualitative research methods, the researcher interviewed five exchange students, who are already back to Taiwan from Poland, France, Austria, Japan and Spain .The results of this study include: (a) the phenomenon of culture shock is not apparent (b) the adjustment ways of exchange students are mild and positive and, (c) the learning style has been changed because of different teaching styles in different countries. In addition, the analysis outcomes imply that languages have a great impact both on learning and interpersonal relationships. Therefore, language abilities need to be valued. The researcher suggests that students need to obtain related resources through various ways, cultivate positive attitudes to cultural adaptation in new environments and independent abilities.
