Therefore, Australia, a country with a population similar to Taiwan but with a land area of more than two hundred times Taiwan, seems to face the same problems as Taiwan. Brisbane is the capital of Queensland and the third largest city in Australia. It is second only to Sydney and Melbourne. The climate is similar to that of Taiwan. The population is similar to that of Taiwan's metropolitan area. In 2018, 300,000 of Brisbane's 2.3 million people have housing. The issue of stress, in the context of such social needs, the Queensland Government has used Brisbane as a demonstration base for social housing. All social housing measures were implemented in Brisbane for the first time, and the successful experience was extended to other cities. This study selected it as the reason for the case study. This study finds that in the process of social housing practice in Australia, the federal government, local governments, and Brisbane cities jointly provide the construction funds and support policies needed for affordable social housing, and combines with civil institutions and non-profit organizations. The power jointly solves the housing pressure of Brisbane residents, and simultaneously integrates social residential residents into social and economic activities, giving them the opportunity to break away from the social housing system and have the ability to enter the general residential market (private rental market, buying houses, etc.). This rolling and virtuous cycle makes social housing economically and financially sustainable, and is a reference for the Taiwan government to implement social housing policies.
