The traditional method of presenting information in books and text form of the past has been gradually replaced by digitalization and the storage of digital data in databases. Furthermore there is a trend for governments all over the world for open public participation and discussion in public policies. Due to the limited resources of government, it is also a current trend worldwide to utilize the resources of public research institutions and combine them with open government data to promote added value applications of open government data. This study focuses on the basic statistics analysis for recent years in the road and traffic violation database for Tainan city which is provided by the Directorate General of Highways. There are 1,041,387 data entries in the database and the dates of the entries range from 2012 to 2015. Chi-squared testing is used to investigate the correlation between the violation variables to obtain the commonly seen violation items and the common incidents from the analysis results and to propose feasible policies targeted at the features of Tainan city traffic in order to reduce the occurrences of violative incidents. This study first uses narrative statistical methods to conduct basic statistical analysis while supplementing the significant variables from the chi-square test for analysis. Analysis results show that a positive correlation exists between the amount of the fine for the violating driver and with other violative items. Further analysis into the main categories of violation in Tainan city’s violation database shows that they include “illegally parking”, “running red light”, “speeding”, and so on. Related literature is also referenced to find strategies and suggestions that may be able to improve the situation. LIN,DA-JIE 林大傑 2019 學位論文 ; thesis 104 zh-TW |
