However, general anesthesia will make the patient’s muscle relaxed, and the patient may thus completely lose the ability of spontaneous respiration, which implies a potential risk for general anesthesia. In order to ensure whether the patient is receiving the oxygen as expected, the anesthesiologist is still utilizing the stethoscope for assistant diagnosis. In order to let the anesthesiologist handle the patient's condition more thoroughly and to reduce the risk of general anesthesia during surgery, continuous monitoring of respiratory sound is a critical part that should not be omitted in the operating room. At present time, the anesthesiologist can only rely on the stethoscope to monitor whether the patient is receiving the oxygen, and this approach is still lack of objective basis for diagnosis. In order to reduce the risk of general anesthesia and to allow the anesthesiologist to concentrate more on the changes in the patient’s condition during the surgery, this project will implement the monitoring device of respiratory sound used in the environment of operating room for the patients receiving general anesthesia during surgery. The breath sound wave type measured by the electronic stethoscope is instantly displayed. This system not only reduces the risk of anesthesia, but also allows the anesthesiologist to concentrate more on the patient's physiological state during surgery.
