Therefore, the development of long-term care which is also called the Long-term Care Plan 2.0 and the senior-people-care related industry becomes the focused policies promoted by the government. Meanwhile, it appears to be the business opportunity for firms. The objectives of the study are to investigate the operating performance of the firms in the long-term care relevant industries and to analyze the influential factors on efficiency. The sample under consideration is the 23 firms from the listed or OTC stock markets with the quarterly data from the period 2015-2018 in TEJ database. The methodology consists of the data envelopment analysis (DEA) method, descriptive statistics, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson correlation coefficient analysis. With regard to the variables applied to the DEA analysis, the inputs come from the number of employees, research and development expenses, fixed assets and operating costs, and the output is the variable of the stock market value of firms. There are three findings from the empirical study. First, among the four categories in the Long-term Care Plan 2.0 industry, it is the category of long-distance-home-health-care system providing the best operating efficiency and showing the positive relationship between efficiency and the firm’s size. With respect to the ownership structure, the variables of the ratio of directors and supervisors and the ratio of controlling shareholders have the positive relationship with the efficiency while the ratio of managerial ownership indicates the negative relationship with the efficiency. Finally, the higher the percentage of R&D expenses, the better the operating performance is. TSAI, YIH-CHING 蔡義清 2019 學位論文 ; thesis 43 zh-TW
