Description
Summary:碩士 === 明新科技大學 === 管理研究所碩士在職專班 === 107 === In recent years, the advancement of industrial development has led to wastewater discharge and as a result has polluted the environment both on land and at sea. This has caused major food safety problems in Taiwan and mainland China. In addition, since Taiwan is surrounded by marine ecosystem that have long suffered from industrial and domestic waste pollution, many Taiwanese farmers resort to adjacent surface water sources for land aquaculture. Consumers are concerned about and emphasizing the importance of food safety and environmental issues, placing special importance on consuming aquatic products to “eat with peace of mind.” The eastern part of Taiwan’s geography and condition has caused the government and private enterprises to actively promote the “blue-gold deep ocean water” industry. Deep ocean water refers to any point at or further than 200 meters, and has five unique components: (i) cleanliness, (ii) low temperature, (iii) stability, (iv) an abundance of nutrients, and (v) specific mineral properties. These factors bypass industrial or man-made pollution water sources and are enough for deep ocean water to the aquaculture industry to help meet the demands of consumers. The purpose of this study was to create a business model for the deep ocean water shrimp farming industry. This study adopts a resource-based perspective to analyze the core resources and competitive advantages of T Company that aquacultures whiteleg shrimp. Customer Segments, Customer Relationships, Channels, Value Propositions, Key Resources, Key partnership, Key Activities, Cost Structure and Revenue Streams of T Company were explored according to the business model canvas proposed by Osterwalder and Pigneur. This business model was also examined by analyzing data of five-year financial forecast and is being anticipated to maximize T Company’s profit. The results of this study could be referred as an example of how to implement an aquaculture industry in Taiwan with long and effective practice and provide deep mariculture industry management or enterprises with some helps in future industrialization.
