This study investigates whether and how the Taichung World Flora Exposition affects the strategic management of local gardening corporations. We provide in-depth interviews with four representative gardening corporations to address this issue. Overall, the interviewed corporations do not benefit from the Taichung World Flora Exposition because of the competitive bidding procedure required by the government. We summarize three suggestions to enhance the benefits of future expositions for local corporations, including the indication of local gardens, the adjustment of the tourist bus, and the adoption of internet shipping service.
