Our results show that financial reporting quality and industry specialist improve investment efficiency in terms for R&D investment and capital expenditure. In addition, we examine how the effect of financial reporting quality and partner-level industry specialist on investment efficiency varies in different firm life cycle groups. Our findings suggest that the mitigating effects of financial reporting quality and industry specialist on investment efficiency are more pronounced for firms in introduction and growth stages.
