Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中央大學 === 資訊管理學系在職專班 === 107 === Because of the popularity and rapid development of the Internet, and the more diverse applications and more developed techniques of various microcontrollers and electronic components, the issues related to smart homes and Internet of Things (IOT) continue to emerge. At the same time, with the development of cloud technology and data analytics, server management and application is more valued and. This study aims to investigate the utilization of a combination of a server management system and a wireless network to manage smart homes. This study then attempts to design the architecture and planning of the server management system, and to analyze and evaluate the test results.
In today's server management systems, the BMC system as a stand-alone system is mainly used to manage and monitor the operation of the server. The operation mode of the BMC system mainly collects information and records from and responds to various components on the server. It also provides such services as querying platform status, viewing logs, remote controls, alerts, and customized instructions.
Through the programming and architecture planning, this study successfully transmitted the system information of a Linux architecture to the BMC system via a wireless network, and simulated feasible modes of smart homes as the contents monitored by the server management system. It is also discussed whether the use of server management systems and IPMI specifications will be beneficial to the management of smart homes in the current environment where smart homes do not have uniform management norms or standards.
According to the analysis and conclusions of the test results of this study, it is feasible to apply IPMI to managing smart homes. It can also free the server management projects from the constraints of physical line restrictions and improve the server management system in the aspects of management, application, and technique development.
