碩士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 應用歷史學系研究所 === 107 === In Taiwan, I-Kuan-Tao exists in a special form, it is different from Taiwanese folk beliefs. There is no remarkable religious celebration. In addition, it is like neither Christianity nor Catholicism’s monotheism. However, we can find it ubiquitously.
I-Kuan-Tao was introduced into Taiwan in 1946, going through lots of ordeals; now it has a place in Taiwanese religions and still keeps growing. Until now, it becomes decent and positive image from previous cult. The research target of this thesis is Zhongli Kuang-Te Temple in Taoyuan City, which is part of the branch of Foundation Zhong Shurui Zhou Tianhui Aide. Kuang-Te Temple was built in 1988, the thesis will explore the past ten years of Kuang-Te Temple through literature reviews and fieldworks to understand the interaction between the temple and the believers as well as the social area. The thesis will analyze the interaction between Kuang-Te Temple and social area in three aspects: the first part is the origin and the development of I-Kuan-Tao Foundation Zhong Shu including belief connotation, status of evaluation, and present distribution. The second part emphasizes the growth of Zhongli Kuang-Te Temple, describing the inception of building the temple, the frame of administrative organization, Lord, and the training of the believers. The third part delves into the interaction between Zhongli Kuang-Te Temple and social area, it bases on the interaction in internal believers and establishment of relationship in external public; furthermore, it researches sacred spacial structure of Zhongli Kuang-Te Temple from the believers’ viewpoint.
