The relevant questionnaire was developed as a research tool by using the scales of job stress and burnout of teachers. Through convenient sampling, a total of 113 copies were issued. The statistical methods applied to analyze the data included: Descriptive Statistics, Independent Sample t test, ANOVA, Pearson Correlation and multiple stepwise regression analysis. There are three major findings: I.The job stress of special education teachers in Yilan County is mainly from the workload; and burnout mainly comes from personal accomplishment. II.The significant difference was found in teachers’ job stress and burnout due to the difference of genders, ages, education backgrounds, teaching years, marital status, school size, type of teaching class and the location of the school. III.There was a significant correlation between the special education teachers’ emotional depletion and lack of humanity; and there was a significant negative correlation between the special education teachers’ personal achievement and facet.
