And using this heritage for tourism purposes can offer for preserving and enhancing intangible cultural heritage since it generates good revenue which can be channeled back into different initiatives to aid its long-term survival. So this study presents an explanation of Water Puppetry for the relationship between heritage and tourism in Vietnam. This study explains how a folk performing genre, water puppets, was selected as an element of national intangible heritage, being a cultural diplomacy since Southeast Asian War and a cultural tourism product in Vietnam for recent years as well. The study also tried to show up some intangible heritage issues in Vietnam like its limitations between cultural policies by the Vietnamese government and international intangible cultural heritage law. According to the study, we hope to bring a piece of new knowledge about Vietnamese geography, history, especially traditional culture.
