Thus, our material life becomes more and more rich and convenient. However, at the same time, we also encounter various environmental and ecological problems, which have turned into a vital issue to the world we live in. Ocean, the source of lives, is the first to be affected. This work used symbolic method to design posters on the issues of ocean ecology, with the purpose of exploring the meaning construction based on the network between signs and symbols. I screened four hot issues of the crises happen in the marine ecology to create posters, with the hope to inform people and make them understand the difficulties in the marine ecological environment. This research used the semiology and symbolism as theories to explore the origin and purpose and applied text analysis to explore the content of a work and the meaning it plans to convey. In the case studies, this research applied Saussure’s semiology theory to explore Signifier, Signified, and Connotation. Then, this research used the expressive form of significance of symbol as the Content Analysis Method to analyze symbolism paintings and environmental public posters, using the media of computer graphics and the posters as the carrier to create 20 posters. The topics of these posters are “Global Warming Crisis”, “Waste Pollution”, “Industrial Pollution”, and “Over-fishing”, which affected the marine ecology most. Via the exhibitions of these posters, these posters propagandized the importance of the marine ecology and drew public attention on relevant issues. The research creations made the audience associate these topics with the visual assistance through visual designs of the change of metaphors and the extended application in the posters. Through the real creation with implications and metaphors to prove symbolism techniques in the expressive style, these posters also inspired their reflection on these issues of the marine ecology. In the end, in the expression of metaphors, the audience could think about the connection among humans, the environment, and the ocean, and develop their respect to the nature, increasing their understanding of eco-friendly concepts. I do hope all mankind can stand up and take action to make the earth a better place and help the marine be sustained for good. Kuo, Yu-Ling 郭郁伶 2018 學位論文 ; thesis 118 zh-TW
