Through daily consumption, lifestyle and parenting style, the women in my study practice their environmental belief every day. This study attempts to understand how these women have become positive environmental activists. By interviewing 12 mothers involved in environmental movement, this study explores their motivations of participating in environmental movement and the ways in which they participate in the movement, as well as the challenges and conflicts they face and the strategies they apply. The study also mentions the impact and significance of women’s environmental movement on the activists themselves and the society. There are five findings in this study. Firstly, "being a mother" is not necessarily the motivation for these women to participate in environmental movement. Secondly, these women consider ecological sustainability issues from the "de-human centered" perspective. Thirdly, these women think it is important to cultivate their children to have to protect nature, and put their motherhood practice into environmental movement. Fourthly, in order to balance their multiple roles, these women develop diverse strategies in their daily lives. Lastly, empowering the activists will make them reflect more on the social issues. I argue that these women’s participation in environmental movement and motherhood practice is a way to break the boundaries between public and private sectors. The "feminine power" forms a new way of social movement that differs from violent struggles centred around masculinity. YANG, CHIA-LING 楊佳羚 2019 學位論文 ; thesis 136 zh-TW |

碩士 === 國立高雄師範大學 === 性別教育研究所 === 107 === Abstract
The purpose of environmental movement is to resist the environmental damage caused by industry and capitalism.
