The indigenous species Eclipta alba of Taiwan was separately planted by soil and hydroponic, and the introduced species of China was planted by soil. Comparison between these Eclipta alba was conducted on the leaf color, average leaf size, elements and contents in plant, antioxidant activities, chlorophyll content and wedelolactone content. The relationship between total chlorophyll content and wedelolactone content of Eclipta alba was also observed. During experiment, the Eclipta alba was cultivated in lab environment, collected for comparison, and extracted with solvent in a ultrasonic oscillation bath. An ultraviolet- visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis) was used to measure the chlorophyll content. A high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was used to determine the wedelolactone content. An inductively-coupled-plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) was used to determine the elements in plant via dry plant ash method. And, the total polysaccharide content, the total polyphenol content, as well as the DPPH radical scavenging activity were measured by UV-Vis. The results showed that wedelolactone can also be found in hydroponically cultivated Eclipta alba, which grows and matures faster, and has the maximum of average leaf size and the highest of total chlorophyll content. Accordingly, the hydroponic could be a potential way to cultivate the Eclipta alba. YEN, FU-SAN 顏福杉 2019 學位論文 ; thesis 67 zh-TW
