Finally, the Fe3O4 with attached TiO2 was further treated with a solution with an appropriate amount of TTIP, and then calcined at high temperature to form the uniform core-shell structure of Fe3O4@TiO2. The results indicated that although the Fe3O4@TiO2 exhibited slightly lower degradation performance than the commercial TiO2 (P25) towards phenol in aqueous solution, but it showed much better recovery efficiency (about 96 %) than P25 and P25/Fe3O4 composite through magnetic fields.
