While employees are paying to email less attention, social media is now taking center stage, especially Instant Messaging (IM). One of the most appealing attributes of instant messaging for businesses is the fact that unlike the delayed, asynchronous nature of email, the current online status or presence of the intended recipients is displayed. In addition, it allows for immediate response. Research has found that IM can heighten work performance, and therefore researchers focused on how to enhance the intention of using instant messaging. Most of the studies use the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to explore the intention of using instant messaging rather than sociology. In this study, researcher focused on using TAM and social influence theory to examine the influence of hospital employees’ intention to use instant messaging and the influence of work performance. This study additionally includes "department" as moderator. The model was tested with survey data collected from 323 employees of a medical center in southern Taiwan. The results demonstrated that the variable of perceived usefulness, subjective norms, critical mass, and social identity were found to be important in determining usage intention toward instant messaging, having a positive correlation with work performance. More importantly, department will moderate relationship between the social influence and instant messaging intention. Ultimately, the study provides managerial implications for healthcare organizations. Cheng, Zhao-Hong 鄭兆宏 2019 學位論文 ; thesis 124 zh-TW |
