Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中山大學 === 人力資源管理研究所 === 107 === The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the grit, the sense of achievement and the intention to stay among clinical nurses. Is the grit associated with the intention to stay, and dose the sense of achievement affect the relationship between the grit and the intention to stay? If the clinical nurses have optimistic and persistent personality traits combined with high sense of achievement, whether they could have higher intention to stay in such a risky, stressful and long-time operation workplace.
The study subjects were nursing staff who had currently engaged in clinical practice. Questionnaire survey method was used in this study. Total 242 nurses completed the questionnaire, which included the demographic data, the grit scale, the work achievement sense scale, and the intention to stay questionnaire. Statistical analyses were performed using SPSS 18.0 and MPLUS6 by descriptive statistics, factor analysis, reliability analysis, independent t test, one way ANOVA, pearson correlation and structural equation modelling.
Results were as follows: 1. The intention to stay among the clinical nurses was positively associated with higher grit scale. 2. The intention to stay among the clinical nurses was not significantly associated with higher work achievement sense scale. 3.The sense of work achievement had modulatory effect between the grit and intention to stay. Higher work achievement sense scale could enhance the positive association between the grit and intention to stay.
Finally, this study findings could offer recommendations for nursing practice, and potentially to develop relevant strategies for retaining nursing staff and stabilizing the nursing workforce.
