In 2017, the chemist Guy Bertrand took the lead in synthesizing copper hydrides with ultra-stereoscopic N-heterocyclic carbene ligands, although the copper hydride was also known as a dimer in solid state structure. The way existed, but in the liquid structure it was successfully observed that its monomer and dimer were an equilibrium reaction. In this experiment, the N-heterocyclic carbene ligand was modified, and the introduction of methoxy group enhanced its electron-promoting property and increased the electron density on the metal, so that the copper hydride in the solution became more monomeric form.
