Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北護理健康大學 === 生死與健康心理諮商研究所 === 107 === This thesis is a self-narration of a Japanese woman, which aims to present her own experience of growth and the experience of taking care of her elders, and to compare and reflect after the narrative. This study adopts the self-narrative approach of the qualitative research modality. The researcher self-narrated from the perspective of a Japanese woman . From the perspective of personal growth experience, she compared and reflected the Taiwanese and Japanese experience in the following areas, such as culture, family, life, work, caring for the elderly, medical care, etc.. While narrating, the narrator realized that she values the feeling of aliveness. In her growth process, she got to make efforts in all areas to be alive. Due to the differences between the weather in Taiwan and Japan, or the misunderstanding resulted from the languages, cultural differences or growth background, the narrator frequently experienced the closeness of death. Although the narrator has been lived in Taiwan for 20 years, she is still treated as a foreigner whether she tried to talked loudly or do anything. Just like the researcher, there are more and more foreigners coming to Taiwan for all kinds of reasons. The researcher believes that everyone must have encounter all the inexplicable experiences such as cultural wall, being misunderstood, being disrespected, sick or being stuck, etc.. Self-narrative is an approach which not only probes into one’s own growth background and family relationship but also sees various cultures and the middle-aged self from different perspective, and understands the mind-set and physical situations of the elders, furthermore, one could learn how to face all the changes softly.
