Memory does not have a specific contour and can be only described with words. The project is the recording and the observation of the author's personal, emotive experience, as well as the memories of the author's intimate others, to study the formation and typology of memory through a psychological perspective. "The first memory" is an essential part of a person's characteristics and perception. This author uses the growth and development of vines to embody life, memory, and the shifts in moods and emotions, and to describe life's beginning and end. Each singular memory includes the time, place, and emotion of the occurrence of the specific event. The linear form of vines can represent each segment of emotion and can provide the linkage for the visuals of each segmented memory. The growth of the vines must graft onto a medium, and vines would shape its unique form according to the different types of media. This author chose architectural ornamentation as the medium of the vines for the visual representation. The ornaments represent collective experiences and vestiges of memory, as well as the common links of memories between individuals within a shared space. This creative research has four series: "the contours of memory;" "your sojourn in this season;" "return;" "memory games." Kandinsky's point and line to plane format are drawn for the rhythm of the visual representation. Four different temporal points are used to differentiate between the series, and memories are given distinct impressions through realistic depiction and arrangement of color. As time incrementally progresses, life generates memories in every season. When we look back, old memories would also yield new revelations. LIN,CHIN-HSIAN 林欽賢 2019 學位論文 ; thesis 89 zh-TW
