Summary:碩士 === 國立清華大學 === 藝術與設計學系美勞教師碩士在職專班 === 107 === This study is based on the action research of “teachers as researchers.” The researcher spent three months teaching English through the creation of the visual arts for fourth grade. The purposes of this study are as following: (a) To design the curriculum for teaching English through the creation of visual arts in elementary school. (b) To discuss the process of teaching English through the creation of visual arts in elementary school. (c) To analyze the process of learning English through the creation of visual arts in elementary school. (d) To explore the feasibility of teaching English through the creation of visual arts in elementary school and to provide suggestions. This curriculum design focuses on“creation of visual arts.”The researcher has conclusions by collecting lots of information regarding teaching“Art”and “English”as followng three activities: (a)“creation of paintings”by individual, (b) paintings through“a shape association”by individual, (c) paintings into“poster design”with clipping and pasting by groups. The researcher describes the situation of teacher's teaching and students’ learning by researcher’s reflection and the feedback of students and co-teachers. According to the results, it is feasible to teach English through the creation of visual arts. It also provides suggestions as references for further research.
