According to the textbooks of three major publishers in Taiwan(Kang-Shuan, Nan-I, and Hann-Lin), the test sheets to investigate the participants’ performance is made. The study subjects were consist of 202 pupils at Chongming Elementary School in Tainan. The collected data were conducted by SPSS and independent samples t-test; thus, the results were shown in the form of descriptive statistics. The findings of the study are as followed, 1. The subjects’ learning effectiveness of “Four Fundamental Operations of Arithmetic” performed well. 2. Subjects’ gender didn’t show significant difference in their performace. 3. The subjects with an underprivileged family background performed poorer learning result than the ones with normal family background. 4. The subjects with an sindle-parent family background performed poorer learning result than the ones with normal family background. 5.
