Besides, the relationship between smartphone addiction and interpersonal relationship in vocational college students in Penghu County is analyzed. This study was conducted by questionnaire survey. The survey was conducted by students of National Penghu Marine & Fishery Vocational High School. The number of classes was randomly selected and 20 classes were taken. A total of 509 vocational high shool students were used as subjects. Also, 509 questionnaires were collected and valid questionnaires were 489. The response rate of the questionnaire was 100%, and the availability rate was 96%. The survey data were analyzed by statistical methods such as narrative statistics, independent sample mean t-test, single-factor change analysis, and Pearson product difference correlation. The conclusion was as follows: 1. The highest-perception status of smartphone addiction in Penghu vocational high school students is “overtime,” indicating that vocational high school students need to strengthen time management. 2. The current situation of interpersonal relationship of vocational high school students in Penghu County reaches the high-intermediate level, indicating that the interpersonal interaction of vocational high school students is satisfying. 3. There is no significant difference in smartphone addiction and interpersonal relationship between different genders and grades. It shows that the smartphone and interpersonal relationship culture between male and female students are consistent. 4. The “overtime,” “tolerance,” “compulsion,” and "withdrawal" perception of vocational high school students using smart phones over 5 hours is higher than 1 to 5 hours in the overall addiction, showing that the longer they use, the higher the addicted intensity is. 5. The “overtime” perception of students using smartphones for 6 to 10 years is high, showing that the longer students use smartphones, the more poorly they handle the time-management. 6. The “compulsion” and "withdrawal" symptoms which students are addicted to social software are higher than those searching for the information and playing games, showing social software is the main cause of addiction. 7. Using social software and dialing function result in the addiction. In addition, the perception of "teacher-student relationship," "peer relationship," "intimate-friend relationship," and "group-individual relationship" is higher than the one of playing games, showing that vocational high school students make good use of social software to communicate with others. 8. The “overtime” and “compulsion” aspect of using smart phones is higher than the one of contacting family members, showing that vocational high school students’ interpersonal relationship focuses on the circle of friends. 9. For vocational high school students whose parents have different educational backgrounds, there is no significant difference between smartphones addiction and interpersoanl relationship, showing parental educational backgrounds don’t affect students’ smartphone addiction and interpersonal relationship. 10. For vocational high school students whose parents have different occupations, there is no significant difference between smartphone addiction and interpersoanl relationship, showing parental occupations don’t affect students’ smartphone addiction and interpersonal relationship. 11. The vocational high school students in Penghu County have a very low correlation between smartphone addiction and interpersonal relationship, showing that the interpersonal relationship of the vocational high school students focuses on the realistic interaction than the virtual exchange. Based on the conclusions, this study provides recommendations for schools, teachers, students, and future research.
