The reason why drug recidivism can’t stop using drugs is the result of multiple aggregations. This study is going to focus on personal factors of drug recidivism, learning more about their characteristic and how it influences one’s core idea, and also the psychological process of drug recidivism. According to the research, we will randomly select four males and four females from northern prison for in-depth interviews and measure their characteristics by Grasmick's low self-control scale. The study shows that drug abusers have higher impulsivity and activity, and due to their low tolerance, they tend to escape when encountering problems. Furthermore, drug abusers are more fortunate, love adventure, and emotional changes. The inner core thoughts are mainly negative emotions, especially loneliness, boring feelings, escaping emotions and self-destruction are the common thoughts of drug abusers who often encounter drugs. There are some different between men and women, men usually have the feeling to use drug when they feel alone, while women usually use drug when they want to escape from bad emotion. Finally, the psychological course of drug reinstatement can be divided into two types: "active process" and "passive process". Life events which take the initiative of using drugs are mainly family relationships and judicial situations. When encountering problems, they are prone to negative thoughts. Incorrect expectations and perceptions of drugs will prompt them to seek drugs. If you are in a high-risk situation, you will increase the risk of recidivism; The life events of passive process will be based on the peer environment. If they are not separated from the drug-friend environment, the prisoner will easily has expectation on drugs. On the other hand, it will encourage the irrational belief in drugs and increase the possibility of recidivism because of the negative emotions. Although life events and high-risk situations are factors that contribute to personal thoughts and medication actions, the key to the main impact is still the inner core thoughts of drug abusers and the irrational beliefs about drugs. According to the research results, this study puts forward three suggestions: encourage family members of drug abusers to participate in the treatment activities, encourage private enterprises to implement social responsibilities, government can cooperate with the drug rehabilitation agencies, and increase the number of correctional institutions’ psychologists and social workers.
