According to the theory of domestication of international news, this research mainly analyzes how the newspapers could adjust their editorial policies due to their political and economic stands. Using news frame analysis as the main research method, this study has developed the frameworks of threat and opportunity to analyze the reports and commentaries about One Belt One Road Initiative from November 2016 to November 2017 in Yomiuri Shimbun and Asahi Shimbun. According to the findings of this research, Yomiuri Shimbun has stronger suspicions of China''s threat due to its anti-China and pro-American stand; by contrast, Asahi Shimbun, with its pro-China stand, shows more optimistic and positive attitudes towards the development of Sino-Japan relationship. Secondly, after comparing the news texts, the research finds out that both newspapers focused more on political and diplomatic issues and mainly based on the news frame of threat. Moreover, according to the discourse analysis of the two main newspapers, the research concludes that the news media tend to represent international exchanges or diplomatic choices on the basis of their national interests rather than understanding or trusts towards other countries. 林麗雲 2019 學位論文 ; thesis 81 zh-TW
