Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 新聞研究所 === 107 === Taiwan is facing rapid aging currently and the aging issues has brought many long-term problems. Some of caregivers’ tragedies have been happening in recent years. From the reports and interviews of these situations, we can understand that family caregivers carry high pressure of taking care of their parents. Some of them even leave their jobs to do that. By doing so, they have no income and therefore fall into poverty. In this in-depth documentary provides deep and close observations of two female family caregivers for readers to understand the stresses and psychological dilemmas of family caregivers. This paper divided into two parts. The first part is academic research, which explores the dilemma of family caregivers who are facing work and the difficulties in their lives. The second part is an in-depth documentary. Through the close and long-time follow-up, the readers will understand the daily lives of the family caregivers such as how many time they contribute to taking care of their parents. And in the end, understand the pressures their bodies and minds are taking. The report found that family caregivers, with the accumulation of care pressure, are increasingly negative in their lives, their health is getting worse and worse, and their mental condition is even weaker than that of the care recipient. Through the perspective of an expert, it has also been found that the current long-term policy has lacked protection for unemployed family caregivers. Therefore, finding appropriate ways of support is so important. At the end of the documentary provides a positive experience for caregivers to understand how to protect themselves in the future and the importance of seeking resources promptly.
