Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 戲劇學研究所 === 107 === This thesis consists of two parts: plays and their creation report. The first part contains two Peking Opera plays: Ruo Niang and The Earl of Ch‘ing Overcame Twan in Yen. Ruo Niang starts from the image of Shangui in The Songs of Chu and the concept of Granny Meng’s soup in folktales to create a story of the woman who helps Granny Meng in making soup in the netherworld. The Earl of Ch‘ing Overcame Twan in Yen is an adaptation story based on the history recorded in Tso Chuen. Focusing on the complicated emotional relationship between Woo Këang the mother and her two sons, this play explores the deep inner thoughts of duke Chwang of Ch‘ing, called Woo-shang. The creation report includes the creative originality, concepts and motivation of the work, and analysis of the plot and characters.
