Through opinions of experts and by the way of questionnaire survey, traditional DEMATEL determines the values 0~4 of the degree of influence, which represents “no influence,” “low influence,” “medium influence” “high influence” and “extremely high influence” respectively. First of all, the paper proposes the modified DEMATEL method, which uses the concept of normalized numerical values to evaluate the degree of mutual influence among the criteria 0~4. Normalized numerical value, based on the multiple documents about patent techniques, refers to the ratio of the appearance frequency of important techniques and component keywords of term segmentation and word segmentation system, to the total number of words of the full texts of the related patent groups. In the paper LED projection light and LED stage light are taken as examples.
