碩士 === 國立高雄大學 === 應用經濟學系碩士班 === 107 === This paper adopts the multinational model and takes into consideration the differences in abatement technology among countries which make the abatement cost asymmetric. As a result, the concept of cost asymmetry is established based on the Barett’s model (1994), and the behavior of technology transfer is added into IEA. We investigate how the differences of technology level between countries influence the equilibrium. Also, we discuss the various combinations of abatement technology among countries and the possibility of technology transfer in IEA, and then compare the result. Our results indicate that, under the same condition, technology transfer in IEA makes it easier for IEA to emerge and raises abatement level.
